Elbow

Elbow pain

Elbow joint is a hinge joint and commonly injured with overuse activity. Most commonly seen out-patient diagnosis with regards to the elbow remain tennis elbow and the golfers' elbow

Painful elbow is commonly seen in patients involved in collision and contact sports. This mostly

occours after a bout with severe inside-out(valgus) or outside-in(varus) force to the elbow. Patients may report to us with instability associated with a pop sound and swelling in the inner or outer aspect of the elbow.

In severe cases it may also be associated with a bony injury. Some players also report of a grating sensation and painful restriction of terminal range of motion. This is commonly associated with athletes involved in weight lifting or power lifters. The concern can essentially be related to pain, instability or restricted movements.

We specialise in conservative and surgical treatment of elbow problems related to trauma and sporting activities.
